Proceeds to benefit Uvalde Morale, Welfare and Rec – our local Border Patrol agents

Kickoff the spring BBQ season with a trip to the Frio River while supporting the US Customs and Border Patrol  nonprofit organization.  This event features teams from across the state, vendors, live music, cornhole and activities for children of all ages. Come as a competitor or judge – everyone is welcome. Freedom Fest is an established Champions Barbecue Alliance sanctioned event.

Freedom Fest FAQ

The four meats (chicken, ribs, pork, brisket) and event entry fee is $150. The jackpots (bloody mary, chef’s choice, kid’s que, beans, dessert) are $25 each.

This event is a CBA (Champions Barbecue Alliance). The 4 meat payout is $8,000.

There is no cost to reserve a riverfront cooksite. Please note these sites do not have access to water or electricity. You can bring a generator if desired.

If you are ok with being self-contained. We offer a limited number of self-contained sites. These parking spots are parking only, they do not have access to water or electricity. You will need to bring your own generator and water supply.

Turn in will be at the Cowboy Hilton.

The event registration deadline is February 27. This will allow our team to prepare for the event.
