Route to Frio Country Resort

Via San Antonio

  • Take Hwy 90 West to Sabinal. Turn right on TX-127 N./187 N. (at the only red light)
  • Travel approximately 2 miles where the highway forks and continue on TX-127 N. (left fork) for approximately 20 miles.
  • Just before TX-127 N. intersects with Hwy 83, turn right on County Road 348 (River Road).
  • Go approximately 2 miles, cross the Kenneth Arthur crossing. Office is just inside the black gate on your right hand side.

Via Uvalde

  • Take Hwy 83 N. for approximately 20 miles.
  • Slight right onto TX-127; immediately turn left onto County Road 348 (River Road)
  • Go approximately 2 miles, cross the Kenneth Arthur crossing. Office is just inside the black gate on your right hand side.

Via Junction/Leakey

  • Take Hwy 83 S. for approximately 13 miles South of Leakey.
  • Turn left onto County Road 348 (River Road).
  • Go 3.8 miles; Frio Country Resort/Store is on the right, after the Kenneth Arthur Crossing.

Cabin Rates

All cabins rates are based on amenities and number of people accommodated.

  • The number of guests is limited to sleeping capacity.
  • Hotel/Motel tax is not included in these rates.
  • All prices are subject to change without notice.

Deposits

A two night deposit is due at the time of reservation. If you would like to mail in a check deposit, you have 10 days from the day the reservation is made to get the payment sent in. Frio Country Resort also offers an E-Check (ACH Draft) option. The balance is due 60 days prior to your arrival date.

Cancellations

If you cancel 60 days prior to your reservations, you will receive a full refund less 25% handling fee of the first night’s rental fee (handling fee). If you cancel within 60 days, you will lose 100% of your payment(s) unless we can rent the unit for the reserved stay at full rate. If this can be rented, FCR will refund 100% less 50% handling fee of the first night’s rental. No partial cancellations will be accepted. Unusual or extenuating circumstances will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of Frio Country Resort. The party making the reservation becomes the responsible party for payment and for the actions and behavior of all others that may occupy the cabin, RV Site or vacation home during the rental period. Responsible party must be at least 21 years of age or older and provide a valid credit card and driver’s license upon check-in. You are responsible for payment of days you reserved—no exceptions.

Rules

For your safety and convenience, the following rules must be observed. Frio Country Resort reserves the right to refuse admittance and to evict those not complying to the rules of good conduct and safety.

  1. Families: Minors must be supervised by a responsible adult.
  2. No pets allowed. Violation fee will be determined on a case-by-case basis and is nonrefundable.
  3. No tents, pop-ups or RV’s at cabins or vacation homes.
  4. 5 MPH speed limit in the campground.
  5. No Smoking inside any cabins or vacation homes.
  6. No littering.
  7. No glass containers in or near the river.
  8. No mini-bikes, ATVs or golf carts.
  9. Small fires in designated areas only.
  10. No discharge of fireworks or firearms.
  11. Lights/music off at 11 pm in vacation homes and cabins 
  12. No loud music allowed at any time. No offensive language or behavior
  13. Cabins, RVs & Vacation Homes must always be kept clean and neat.
  14. Children are not allowed in the pool area or river area without the supervision of a responsible adult or guardian. Parents: please do not allow your children to roam around unsupervised.
  15. Hunters: Frio Country Resort is a “Feather Free” establishment. There will be a $250 clean up fee for any feathers or other carcasses left behind at cabin/house premises.
  16. Easter Patrons—We love confetti eggs but not at our resort or rental homes. There will be a $500 clean up fee for any confetti left inside and/or around the resort or vacation home.

Cabins and Vacation Homes

Frio Country Resort is a family oriented business and we are proud to offer quality accommodations at reasonable rates. So we can maintain these standards for generations to come, we respect and adhere to these policies.

Please respect our cabins and leave them as you found them. Observe the NO PETS and NO SMOKING rule. To maintain the cabins in a safe and comfortable condition, we must limit the number of guests per cabin. Maximum occupancy is based on how many the cabin will sleep. Eviction will occur. The number of vehicles is limited, one vehicle per bedroom. Inquire about overflow parking.

RV Sites

We have limited sites available—all with full hook-ups. Each site is equipped with a picnic table and BBQ Pit. All sites are for RVs and Pop-ups only. Two car limit per site. No tent camping, sleeping in cars, trucks without campers, and no open-air sleeping. No camping near the river’s edge-designated sites only.

Frio Country Resort is a family resort. We will not rent to minors—families only. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone. No profanity—please do respect your neighbors.

Are the cabins on the river ?

Cabins located in the resort are on the water or a short walk to the river. Vacation Homes are located in subdivisions throughout Concan and are anywhere from 2-5 mile drive to river access at Frio Country Resort. You will receive a parking pass to designated area along the river upon check-in.

Can we request a late check-out ?

Arrangements can be made for a late check-out, upon availability, at an additional charge. Late check-out is not guaranteed and will be handled on a case to case basis. Please contact our office to make arrangements.

What supplies do we need to bring for our stay ?

Bedding and sheets are provided for your stay. Guests are responsible for their own towels. All cabins are furnished with a full kitchen. Kitchen supplies include: coffee maker, toaster, blender, basic pots and pans, utensils, plates, cups and bowls. Upon your arrival, your rental will be furnished with a starter kit which includes, dish soap, hand soap, toilet paper, hotel style shampoo/conditioner/bath soap,  paper towels and a kitchen towel. We recommend that your guests bring additional supplies if you will be staying for an extended time or think you may run out.  Vacation Homes may have additional amenities such as; crockpots, Keurig’s, fryers, etc. Please check the description of the rental.

Towels can be provided for an additional fee. Guests will need to call our office prior to their arrival to make arrangements for towel service.
Hair dryers are not provided.

Should you forget something, there are many great local stores that may have the supplies you and your guests need to enjoy your stay on the Frio River.

Is there Internet available ?

Cabins and RVs do have access to a free WiFi service – this is a standard speed and does not allow guests to stream (YouTube, Netflix, Hulu, etc.).

Guests have the option to upgrade to a premium service for a fee, each cabin has instructions on how to utilize this service.

Most vacation homes are furnished with WiFi – check the description of the rental or call our office to confirm.

WiFi is available at our office and is available to use throughout the day. We also offer a business center if you need access to a computer during your stay.

What do I do in case of emergency?

If there is a rental related emergency (AC, refrigerator, maintenance issue, etc.), give us a call. If the call is received during regular business hours, a member of our reservations team will contact the appropriate maintenance person. If the call is received after business hours, our answering service will call the manager on duty and the issue will be addressed promptly.

During the peak season, Frio Country Resort does have nightly security. However, if there is an immediate need for security call 911 to dispatch local law enforcement.

If there is a medical emergency, call 911.

Web-Reservations require a credit card to be entered in order to complete the reservation. Your card will not be charged upon completion. Once our team receives a notification for your online booking a member of our staff will call to confirm the booking. At this time, you can approve a credit card transaction or make other payment arrangements. We accept Credit Card payments, E-Checks (ACH Draft), Checks/Cashiers Checks/Money Orders and cash.

Can multiple people make a payment on a reservation?

Yes. If your party will be splitting payments we can accommodate this. Please call our office to make arrangements.

Are pets allowed ?

Frio Country Resort has a NO PET policy. Violators will be charged a non-refundable fee and may be evicted.

Can I make a reservation online ?

Reservations can be made online. If you receive an error, check to minimum night requirements or give us call. Peak Season requirements are as follows:
4 Night minimum if the reservation includes a Friday and/or Saturday. 3 Night minimum if the reservation is Sunday – Thursday. If the availability calendar shows availability but you receive an error, please call our office or send us an email.

Web-Reservations require a credit card to be entered in order to complete the reservation. Your card will not be charged upon completion. How long does it take to float the Frio?

Float time varies depending on water levels. Water levels will vary depending on the amount of rain we receive.
Average float time from Seven Bluffs crossing to Kenneth Arthur Crossing & Kenneth Arthur Crossing to Neal’s is approximately 2-2.5 hours.

Again, this will vary depending on water levels. The Frio River is not a lazy river and does not go in a circle.

Please make sure you have discussed pick up, drop off and shuttles with your outfitter.

Do you offer a shuttle and tubes for renters?

Frio Country Resort does not have a tube and shuttle service.

We highly recommend local outfitters such as: Andy’s, Neal’s and Josh’s.

Please make sure you have discussed pick up, drop off and shuttles with your outfitter.

What time is check-in and check-out ?

Check-in is 4 PM

Off season check in time is flexible. If the rental is available, our team is happy to allow you and your guests to check-in early. Arrangements can be made prior to your arrival, please call our office to confirm.

What cell phone providers work in the area ?

AT&T is the only cell phone provider in our area. Guests are welcome to use our office phones to make personal calls during business hours.

What’s provided by Frio Country Resort in Your Rental?

All of our homes and cabins are furnished with a full kitchen. Basic essentials to get you started during your stay.

Cabins located in the resort are within walking distance to the Frio River. Vacation Homes have river access in the parking area of the resort.

What are the booking requirements for Frio Country Resort?

In order to reserve with Frio Country Resort, the person on the reservation must be 21 or older. (Some homes do require guests to be 25 or older).

Peak Season booking requirements: 4 Night minimum if the reservation includes a Friday and/or Saturday. 3 Night minimum if the reservation is Sunday – Thursday.

When does ”Peak Season” begin and end?

Peak season rates begin on May 1st and end on September 30th.

Minimum nigh requirements begin on Memorial Day Weekend and end on Labor Day Weekend.

What is required upon check in?

Guest will be asked to provide a valid DL and CC to be scanned into their reservation.

This card is not charged and is on file for damages.

Can one of my guests check-in for me?

We are happy to allow someone in your party to check-in for you. Phone or email authorization must be given to Frio Country Resort in order to allow anyone that is not on the reservation to check in. The person you authorize to check in must meet the minimum age requirement.  A copy of their DL and CC will be scanned in and attached to the reservation. You can come in and change the cc on file, should you chose to.
